Privacy Policy

CardBridger ("we," "us," or "our") operates the cardbridger.com website and related services (the "Service"), a platform for trading card game collectors to catalog their collections and find local trading partners. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to operate the Service:

• Account information. Your email address, username, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your email and basic profile information from that provider.
• Location information. A ZIP or postal code you provide, which we convert to approximate coordinates to find nearby traders. We do not collect precise GPS location, and we never display your exact coordinates to other users — only a generalized region.
• Collection data. The cards you add to your collection, their status (have, want, keep), and related details you enter or import.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your card numbers; Stripe handles that directly. We retain only a customer reference and subscription status.
• Usage and security data. Basic logs such as IP address and actions taken, used to operate the Service, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

How we use your information

• To provide the core Service: matching you with nearby traders, displaying card prices, and managing your collection.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To process subscription payments through our payment processor.
• To send transactional emails (verification, password reset, and, if you opt in, price alerts).
• To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security issues.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not show your exact location to other users.
• We do not share your collection or contact details beyond what you choose to make public (for example, a public binder you explicitly enable).

How your information is shared

We share information only with service providers that help us run the Service — our hosting provider, payment processor (Stripe), email provider, and the card-data and mapping APIs we use to look up cards and locations. Each processes data only to perform its function. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Public binders

If you choose to make your binder public, the cards you mark as "have" or "want" become viewable by anyone with the link. Cards marked "keep" are never shown publicly. You control this setting and can change it at any time.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your collection data at any time from within the app, and you can request deletion of your account by contacting us. When you delete data, it is removed from our active systems.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details on our contact page.

Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls that isolate each user's data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
